I am not sure how many people in business realise that they have a total video making tool in their pocket! I’ve been exploring some video apps for the iphone which I’ll be posting inside the training. Video apps make it easy to get creative, perform basic editing and upload to youtube and facebook all from the phone. No fancy video editors or plug-ins required. Of course you can export from your camera roll and tweak your masterpiece inside your own edit software should you choose.
For example with Silent Film Director you can create a silent movie from the 1920′s and select from a choice of music. In the pro upgrade version you can add titles and captions. Above is an example created by a quartet, it’s a great effort, but it doesn’t quite hit the mark for me and some of the text is cropped. There’s a big opportunity here to make a video for your business that would really stand out a mile as the app is mostly used by family shooters.
Even using a simple app like this you still need to plan it out and think about the lighting, story and in this case how to shoot it in the style of the Silent Movie era. So you need to think like a real director, the effects are just an extra layer on top of your raw footage. It’s probably a good idea to watch a Charlie Chaplin movie first to see how a master did it.
But which type for business could use Silent Film Director for their Video Marketing efforts? Well there are lots. Here’s a few ideas:
- Barber shop
- Musician/Band
- A service business (Show how things used to be in the old days then cut to colour and show how it’s changed.)
- Kids Entertainer
- Dance teacher
- Secondhand Fashion shop
- etailer that sells nostalgia
- Traditional manufacturer of sweets, furniture .. you name it.
I am sure you can think of more. The bottom line is that without leaving your iphone you could create a video (or set of videos) as part of your DIY Video Marketing effort for less than $2!
